Pacific International Cup: State Club Championship
The California State Club Curling Championships have been held since 2011 among the California clubs. The winner goes on to represent the state at the Pacific International Cup held in Richmond, British Columbia each year.
California has once again been invited to the Pacific International Cup for 2020. We have accepted the invitation and will hold a playdown to determine the California Club Champion to represent the state at the PIC.
The event will be held January 17-20, 2020 at the Coyotes Curling Club in Tempe, AZ. Hopefully this will be the last one out of state, but in the meantime, they were gracious enough to find time for us to compete for this honor.
The entry fee will be $350. Any remaining entry fee money after the ice rental costs are paid will go toward paying the entry fees for the PIC in Richmond, BC. Depending on the number of signups will determine the first draw time on Friday morning. Once teams are confirmed, we'll discuss possibly going into Monday, which is a holiday, in order to not play on Friday.
The entry and payment deadline is November 24, 2019. All team members must come from the same club.
We will send updates via email to registered skips and post online at http://www.curlcalifornia.com/
Brushing Equipment: The WCF, USCA, and Curling Canada have issued new brushing and equipment guidelines which will be enforced at PIC and at playdowns.
Games will be 8 ends, utilizing the 5 rock rule.
Please pass this info along to anyone you think may be interested in putting a team together.
